8. Your Faith In Christ

Starting out in Christ is not difficult. It only takes a little faith to begin your journey. Trust in God, the teachings of Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Just with every wonderful gift that God gives us, there are always those bad apples that try to spoil the rest of the bunch. These bad apples come in different forms. False teachers are people who give wrong information to people who are unlearned, inexperienced, and are new to following God. These false teachers have been decieved and they spread around that false information. Many of them have given their souls to the devil and are now his agents. They are determined to turn people away from knowing the One and Only True God.

As a rule of thumb, the bible tells us that the words of a true Prophet always comes to pass. Their messages consist of what happened in the past, addressing the present situation, and the next step required to either improve, grow, or make things right with God and for the future prosperity of the nation. Pray to God to lead you to the right place where you can grow safely according to His Word.

Also, it is natural that fear and doubt may creep into your thoughts. You may wonder if this whole thing is real, or worthwhile, or maybe that you are not good enough, or maybe you think you can’t stick with it. Just know that God is faithful to those who love Him. He will be with you with each new step of faith. He will build up your courage, and He will save you from dangers unaware.

When God told Moses that He was going use him to save the hard-hearted, stiff-necked Israelites from under the cruelty and bondage of the Egyptian Pharoah, Moses gave all sorts of reasons why he believed that he was not fit for the job. It was only during the process of being obedient and following God’s commands that Moses learned to trust God. God proved Himself to be faithful to Moses and He has done so with every believer who trusted and obeyed Him before Moses and even now.

Moses became a major prophet who God used to tell the Israelites to hearken to the instructions God gave him. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, Moses was instructed by God to repeat this message, “If my own people will humbly pray and turn back to me and stop sinning, then I will answer them from heaven. I will forgive them and make their land fertile once again.

After spending quality time with God, Moses was given The Ten Commandments to share with the Israelites. It is God’s written instructions for the people to live by so they can have a blessed life moving forward. God always promised to keep them safe and secure as long as they followed His instructions. Moses was the mediator between God and the people of Israel. Whatever God told him to teach the people, Moses did so obediently even when they wanted to overrule his leadership.

God wanted them to know His plans for them if they persevere, live by His Word, and to teach those instructions to their future generations so that they too could prosper and be an example to all the ungodly nations. All would go well as long as they did not rebel against God. They were a truly blessed people who God protected against their enemies who sought out to possess their wealth and enslave them. Individuals who chose to adopt the practices of rebellious nations ultimately met their own downfall.

So whenever you find that your faith is being challenged by doubt and fear, just think of all the heroes and heroines of the Bible and how they lived victoriously by trusting God. You can achieve great things as long as you live a life that pleases God and your heart is in the right place. Pray to God for courage, wisdom, and His guidance. Whatever He tells you to do, just do it. It is the only way that you can conquer your fears and doubts. Your faith will become greater as you witness God move on your behalf.
